The Role: The Pilot in Command (PIC) is accountable to the Chief Pilot for the safe conduct of assigned flights. The primary responsibility of a PIC is to provide for the safe operation of his/her assigned aircraft and crew. The PIC is the final authority on all matters concerning the safety of his/her assigned aircraft and its operation. Flight planning, including checking weather, all applicable NOTAMs, determining aircraft weight and balance, fuel, oil, and survival equipment requirements.: b.
