Responsibilities As a Heavy Equipment Operator on our Long Haul Travel Crew, you will support all phases of utility construction across telecom projects throughout the U.S. You take pride in working safely, operating efficiently, and delivering high-quality results in the field. What you’ll do: Support crew productivity on projects of varying lengths of time Maintain strict safety standards around underground utilities Operate light and heavy construction equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, cable plows, hydraulic reel trailers, and other job-related machinery Operate dozers and Plowcat/Pullcat equipment for utility installation and right-of-way construction Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance Read and interpret utility locates, maps, and above-ground markers to ensure safe excavation Troubleshoot field issues to keep projects on schedule Work 50-60 hours per week and travel 100% of the time (except PTO & Holidays) nationwide Qualifications About You: 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in utility or civil construction preferred Experience operating dozers, with specific experience on Plowcat/Pullcat equipment strongly preferred Ability to operate additional equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, mini-and cable plows a plus Strong understanding of safe excavation practices and utility locate interpretation…
